In 2008, UPEACE/US offered two series of professional training courses in Washington, DC in conjunction with the UPEACE Center for Executive & Professional Education. The courses were designed to provide established and emerging leaders with the professional development opportunity to advance their leadership and management skills. Through these courses, leaders of all professional backgrounds were equipped with critical skills to maximize their impact in their respective careers and in the pursuit of peace and justice.
Spring 2008 Course Series: 2-day course on Nonprofit Leadership: Maximizing Impact.
Fall 2008 Course Series: 1-day course on Corporate Social Responsibility and a second offering of the 2-day course on Nonprofit Leadership.
Through the 2008 courses, UPEACE/US delivered over 35 hours of training to over 40 professionals involved in peacebuilding, community development, and other related sectors. All courses convened diverse groups of professionals representing 10 different countries and from organizations such as the World Bank, UNHCR, UNICEF, Chemonics International, Darfur Peace & Development Org., and many others. 2009 Courses: We are currently in the process of planning the 2009 Professional Training Course Series - check back in early 2009 for more information.
